Winter Harbour July 2015 Fishing Report

Winter Harbour Fishing this July this year has been excellent. The first half of the month was the best I have ever seen, with many days landing and releasing 20, 30 and even 40 chinook per day. During the second half of July the water temperature warmed up into the mid sixties for about a week which pushed a lot of the springs out. We still got our limits every day, but we had to work hard at it some days.

The good news is with the warm water the tuna have moved extremely close to shore! Top that with the awesome weather we have been having and get ready for some exciting tuna action! The furthest we have had to go is only 20 miles off shore with averages between 20-30 tuna a day!

Halibut and ling cod fishing have continued to be unbelievable. We’ve been getting our limits on all bottom fish with ease every day.

August is sure to be absolutely awesome this year, so find a way to get yourself to Winter Harbour!
